Amount of Award   The amount of the award will be determined by the Foundation on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the level of tuition fees, accommodation costs, living expenses appropriate to the country in which they will be studying, books and incidental expenses. Successful candidates will be required to provide details of this which should be obtained from their chosen universities. The award will include provision for the scholar’s airfare at the beginning and end of the course and for reasonable subsistence during university vacations, including foreign travel which is considered to be an important part of the scholarship. Scholars are therefore discouraged from taking paid employment during university vacations and will be expected to give an account of how they have used their vacations. The award (including tuition fees, accommodation allowance, living expenses, and vacation allowance) will normally be disbursed to the scholar or to the university/college direct, whichever is appropriate, at the Foundation’s discretion but so as to comply with any terms of payment imposed by the university or college.
